The issue of the Regulation of the Office of the Prime Minister on September 9, 1981 gave rise to not only the Royal Development Projects Board but also the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board which was then known as the Secretariat Office of the Coordinating Committee for Royal Development Projects. Originally, the Office was an agency within the Economic Preparedness Planning Division under the Office of National Economic and Social Development Board.
