The Office of the Royal Development Projects Board

The issue of the Regulation of the Office of the Prime Minister on September 9, 1981 gave rise to not only the Royal Development Projects Board but also the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board which was then known as the Secretariat Office of the Coordinating Committee for Royal Development Projects. Originally, the Office was an agency within the Economic Preparedness Planning Division under the Office of National Economic and Social Development Board.

Later, when the development scope of the Royal Development Projects had expanded, the cabinet agreed on March 3, 1992 to separate the Office of Royal Development Projects Board from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board by lifting its status to a department within the Office of the Prime Minister directly under the authority of the Prime Minister. His Majesty enacted the establishment of the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board on August 27, 1993 which became effective from September 7 of the same year. Later, on October 3, 2002, His Majesty the King approved Article 46 (4) of the B.E. 2545 Bill for the Amendment of Ministries and Departments which made the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board a department not under the Office of the Prime Minister, but under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister
